Why is mudbox giving this strange small pixel bump make after I bake the Black and white map out? Anyone have a work around for this problem?

If that’s a render using the MB-generated displacement map, then it appears as if you have baked to an 8-bit map. That gives only 256 levels of displacement, which is usually not enough and causes those stairstepping artifacts. Use 16 or 32 bit output instead.
Thanks JamesMK! Ya. Its much better when I use a 16bit tif but I’m still getting other strange bump shades. By the way I’m using mudbox 1.0.7
