Here is an other milestone, roughly flying bricks from an exploading wall, there is no backrgound yet. What a shame:(
Thanks to all supporting friends and beautiful critiques, you are the best!
Amazing line art buddy ! Wonderful ! I like your drawing style . Your triangular composition is powerful too, what a dynamic ! I’ll keep an eye on this good thread.
Best of luck dood :arteest:
I really love the character rendering and line art so far. Nice work! I think the bricks are getting to be a bit too much - just too much going on to distract from the characters and messying up the otherwise clean composition. Just wondering whether you really need them… good luck with the rest of the background!
You are quite right Walrus, I shall eliminate some brick details, and however, I want a visual tension in my composition, but it shouldnt totally encompass and dominate whole picture. Its not because I need them, I just want them, but not so strong as you said. Thanks for the tip, its priceless, bless you and good luck.
In this Digitally-dominated art world, it’s nice to see traditional drawing skills put to good use…‘Tip of the hat’ from me, sir.
Good luck
Paul
Such a precious compliment, you are honouring me sir!
This is such a great encouregement, such a kindly support… I will try my best to make you proud.:))
Really interesting picture! Draws you in and makes you wonder whats going on with the different characters. Your artwork is terrific! If your digital artwork is as good as your line art then you’ll do great!
Here is a rough painting milestone of invictus! There are lots of things due to change and develop: colour contrast problems, textural studies, light and shadow and little funy accesories… I hope you like it:))
I do!
Glad to see you’re still working on this, it’s looking really nice! I’ll save the crits for when you’ve polished up things more - overall, nothing to add, jyst stuff I know you’re still getting to!
Keep going!
Thank you Michael, it’s so exiting to be watched, very very stressful tough.
Last month almost I had lost myself in my doctorate thesis; even I lost the sense of time, every thing. One time I thought that I was very late for finishing my challenge project. I hope that I can manage to differentiate between foreground and background. I suppose this would become my major problem.
It’s looking great. have faith. I’ve entered a couple of these challenges and the key is not to get stressed. It’s funny, but you naturally deliver in time…even without rushing.
Keep it up.
Paul
Thank you for your most beautiful encouraging words and priceless tips Paul. They are highly appreciated. I am gona keep it up of course no doubt about it.
Draldede - I’m a new-comer here, so I realize that critiquing the drawing at this point is a bit moot, however I’m going to offer an observation.
While your drawing is good, it is a bit inconsistent… the girl and the cat are awesome- very lifelike, exaggerated, simplified just enough, and twisted in just the right places to put motion into the piece, where the male figures seem to technical… almost like you were a bit too concerned with anatomy.
The silhouette of the lead figure is lost in the bricks, and that can be changed as you work, but the debrit seems a bit to well scattered; almost fractal-like.
Lastly, the beast figure feels far too centered in the image and symmetrical in the space it occupies. It makes the piece feel fairly rigid and posed.
I hope this doesn’t come across as harsh. Your work is solid, and I feel like a good artist wants to hear these observations. Keep at it, I’m sure this piece will turn out great… again, the unfinished linework in this piece (woman/cat) is wonderful.
You are wonderful, thank you for your nice comments.
I wish you luck for your own personal challenges palls. I hope all end well.
