Heres the starting sketches for the CGtalk contest themed “Strange Behavior”. My idea is based around it being a Frazetta-esque painting but instead of John Carter its a nerdy gamer guy with the busty babe in his arms defending against the monsters. Except everyone including the chick has baffled looks and confusion. The nerdy geek will have a headstrung confident “I can kick ass” face on him raising his “guitar” and “glove” in the air.

Well, to get an understanding, i guess i should post my inspiration and such to start off with. This guitar hero advertisment really got me inspired to do something in that very 2d animated/ Jamie Hewlett style. Along with going with the Frazetta painting theme.
So yeah, heres hoping i can blend the two styles and create something “strange” and awesome looking.

Ok, so I’ve decided to go with a different approach still same theme but not the same theme. I’ve decided to go with a stage/opera theme but with the frazetta elements still thrown in with the guy playing guitar. I’d love to know what you guys think, does this make sense, or is the point not getting across? With a cgchallenge theme like this i think sometimes the idea can be overthought.
