Latest Update: Line Art or Model: Eyes

Well I’m a little late entering this contest, but I think it will be fun to try and come up with something in a month.
So far I’ve rounded it down to 4 ideas. I’m currently letting these ideas sizzle in my brain a little till I can decide on which one has the most potential. The main thing is I want something that is both funny and strange. If anyone has any preferences on which one they like best please let me know.

Myself, I like the idea of #1 best. I like the idea, and the general deiction of the layout, with the main character large and the smaller characters in the distance chasing him, could be really strong. #2 is already being done by pseudonympending in this thread - well, it’s not the cowboy, but it’s the same basic idea of a guy in a tutu. THe baby smoking cigarettes is just disturbing!
Anyhow, good luck!

Here’s an update on ideas 1 and 3. I really like idea 2 but if someone else is doing something similar then it may not be as good of a direction to take since both pieces would be directly competing with each other.

I agree, I think the first one with the loon trying to fly away is a fun concept. Try different perspectives to really emphasize the altitude of his attempt. Maybe a low shot looking up and he is falling but has an excited “I’m free!” face. Or maybe looking down from above, showing traffic. Cool stuff!

Here’s a quick 3d comp I made to play with camera angles a bit. So far I’m thinking I like idea 1 the best, mainly because it has a little back story. Thanks for the comments, Xenomanic, and Walrus.

#7

idea one is good.
compositionally, the pieve needs some sort of intrest in the lower right.

#8

I decided to rotate the composition a little, so it gets a more vertical feel.

#9

I did a few small changes to the positioning of everything and I widened the camera lense a little. Now I’m going to start gathering reference and make a photo color comp.

#10

Here’s a few more tweaks

#11

Woops the last image repeated

#12

Here’s a first pass of the Loon’s head.

#13

Here’s his head in maya.

#14
