Interesting image. The only crit I have is that it is too “side on”. A more dramatic perspective might add something. Just a thought
@DeeVad: Good 'ol Blendernation
Thanks a lot David, its cool to hear from you.
@Steampunk: Thanks!(man of few words eh?)
@Squishme: Very true. The side view is somewhat purposeful, but it wont be so flat once I finish up the shading. Its pretty rough now, so you’re right, it seems all the more boring.
Dramatic isnt exactly what Im going for in this image anyway, so Ill keep this perspective I think…
Thanks for bringing that up though!
@mdavid: Thank you very much
Updates on the way…
Ok, Ive added the boat, with one of its sails finished.
I also decided that his peg-leg looked like crap, so The Old Hermit has a fleg and foot now(yay).
Ive done various minor shading fixes and tweaks as well, though they arent that obvious.
All Crits and comments wanted.
Peace Guys(and Gals), Thanks for Looking…And maybe check back later I should have finished some more of it by then…
Drew
hey like your island in the sky idea…my suggestion to you would be to give more land out in front of the door so its not like he is walking off the edge…unless thats what your going for in which case the pose of the character should be more dramatic like losing his balance at the edge…maybe a litte fence or mailbox would be nice?? anyway just my thoughts dont have to use them.
A very good looking concept. I really like it. But I think that the character is too exposed. I really liked it in the beginning of your work, when he was more hidden behind the door. I just think it looked better.
Keep up the good work.
@HFix: Actually, He is supposed to be stepping off, and you’re definately right, the pose needs work. My first inclination was to have him already floating, but I changed it up a little bit.
Obviously the message doesnt make it acroos like I want it to. Thanks for pointing that out!
And actually, a mailbox is a good idea…
@oferkapota: Ha, and a comment in total contrast…I dunno. I THink it Looks Good Either way, Ill put it up to anybody who wants a say.
Should the Hermit be Hidden, or more Exposed?
Let me know what the rest of you think.
