Hello CG Members, im pretty new here and after looking at all the wonderful entries from past challenges ive decided to join in and make my introduction here in strange behavior. Hope my entry isnt to late in the game…if it is, im doing it anyway XD.

My concept is based on an old Godzilla movie called “Destroy All Mosters”. In the image however the monsters band together to destroy all stains and attempt to cleanup the streets of New York. So far featuring King Kong equipped with bucket and broom, Mecha-Ghidora who has a dyson hoover inspired core…and the mighty mothra complete with air freshener they unite! although im sure in reality if this happened the destruction would probably be equal to their regular rampages.

Really at the early stages with this so just have some really rough sketches to upload. Now I would feel bad to leave out Godzilla himself but Im struggling to find a suitable outlet for his cleaning needs, any ideas?

Here is an inspirational link you might like if you havnt seen the movie

yo noisetank, as I just said in my thread, for me there’s no problem if you continue with this idea. keep it up. Waiting to see more

Ok, aslong as im not stepping on any toes here is a sketch of where I think this idea is going.

Centerd in the image is mech-ghidoria who is bussy sucking up trash cans and crack heads (to be added later) expelling hot caramel cented wax over the glass buildings, while buffering them out for that extra finish. Meanwhile at its feet of the mecha we see two women singing away to mothra who hangs above. They tell it to blow away the smog and dust that hangs over the city and replace it with a giant pine air freshener. They also will it to hypnotize kong who is bussy washing windows and flooding the city in suds.
All of these different elements transform the city into a hurricane of cleaning madness nobody is safe! :open_mouth:

I think with all this interaction Ill have a very colourfull vibrant picture to work on over the next few weeks. Crits and ideas both narrative and visual are very welcome. Will update soon

Just a quick colour play, Ide like to keep the rough slightly sapped look of the older films so i think a letterbox and yellow tint will work well.

Here is a new composition with godzilla included. I think this base is ok for painting too, still need to add all the other elements such as the wash,wax,hypno-rays and peanuts. Look forward to your comments.

After long deliberation I have decided to scrap or atleast put aside my original idea due to the fact that godzilla monster’s although very cool are not very emotive to use in illustrations. Even acting out strange tasks they still remain drone like in the personality and i think to do well in this challenge requires lots of narrative elements and highly expressive imagery.
So my new concept is titled “Crash Diet” which is a illustration of an impressionable skinny model, dreaming about crashing into a giant sweet creamy cake on a massive round mecha, that swirls and fires at the soup like a crazed obese monster. The model stand atop the beast having no interaction with the food and hangs over the scene smoking a malboro. The mecha’s large cannon arms flail widely destroying fatty biscuits and even innocent pieces of fruit the model detests the carnage but secretly salivates. My vision is a vivid barrage of creamy sugar sprinkled mahem.

What do you folk think?

just a quick paint

Fleshing out the concept more and developing the character assets. Im ready to move onto the lineart now, I just cant decide If should use a giant banana split as a background or a desert glass or maybe something more fashion orientated.

some lovely drawings - I can’t wait to see them gel. Good work!

Heres my base Line art, The mech atm is looking very pop and twinbee but I doubt a super model would ride around in anything less.

Hai, been really bussy but now ive returned! Heres where im at with it so far, managed to get the base of girl and the robot down. Definatly need to redo the bullet ribbons but so far im pretty pleased with it. Wanted to know what you guys thought about the colour combinations and general layout. Over the next week ill start developing the other elements such as the fruit in the cream etc…have considerd changing the entire thing itno a takeaway kebab actually. Will update again soon cheers!
