Stills to movie question

#1

Hi all,

I converted a series of stills to movie by importing to Adobe Premiere then correcting the run time with After Effects. Question - is there a one step way to do this, are there better software to use?

Assuming the series is named in such a way as it can be recognized as such, like filename001.tif, filename002.tif, and so forth, then what you want to do is to import it as an image sequence. Premiere (or AE, or whatever you’re using) will recognize that the images are supposed to be a video clip instead of stills, and it will treat them as such. You will have to specify the framerate, though.

I don’t recall the exact steps you have to go through, but if I recall correctly, there’s a checkbox in the import screen that says “Import as sequence” or something like that.

Assuming they are not but
you can put them in some sort of order, at least at Windows 7 you can:
Select all, hover the mouse over the first, r-click and choose rename- type a name e.g. random
and hit enter. Your files are now named random (1).jpg, random (2).jpg and so on. Now AE
imports it all wrong and most video editors do not recognise them as a sequence. So you run
cmd, go to the folder and type ren random ().jpg random000.jpg. Now they are named
random0001.jpg, random0002.jpg which is acceptable in all video editing programs.
