I’ve recently rendered out some stills through fPrime for an animtions, but still need to get them converted to an animtion. I’m looking to eventually pick up something like Avid Xpress or Adobe Premire that I believe will do that. But not for a couple of months. So I was looking to see what are some more cost effective ways to get the stills to an animtion. I’ve heard QuickTime Pro will do it, but looking for a confirmation on that. I’ve tried in side Windows Movie Maker, but without being able to manually set the frame lenghts, with the lowest times, it’s choppy. Any suggestions?
stills to animation ?
And if you need to output MPEG files try TMPEGEnc http://www.tmpgenc.net/ .
You can also make AVI and MOV files using Lightwave itself. You just need the right codecs installed.
Load you image rendered files as a sequence, put them in Background. Set the camera for the same format as your source files (unless you want to resize it, which you can). Set the rendering options to “save animation” and choose the codec. Set the first and last frames to render the same as your image sequence. Render away and you’ll get your AVI/MOV as result.
Still, VirtualDub is the fastest encoding program around. The Lightwave solution is cool because you can use an image sequence in any format (VirtualDub doesn’t load PNGs AFAIK, at least it didn’t until recently) and because you can render wither AVI or Quicktime animations in any codec you have installed.
