I posted a preliminary render of this the other day. I spent the weekend elaborating on it and here is the finished product:
Still: Broken and discarded
I’ve seen pictures of burn victims, and that’s pretty much what it looks like. Looks good.
Amazing attention to detail. Texturing is awesome. It could just as well be a public sculpture.
Hi. I actually liked it a lot better without the props, when it was just the doll floating in all that tar.
great concept but this image is suffering from overdone bump mapping and poor anti-aliasing. what program did you use?
I’m not sure about the bits where the babies arms / legs enter the ground. I think it’s too clean and the ground looks too flat around that area. Perhaps some dust and debris might have built up against there?
I also think that the material on the baby especially the head area is far too shiny, I would dull it down quite a bit.
Thanks
Alan
i like the material for the floor got a tar quality thats impressive…and the render is pretty stunning.
i don’t like the subject matter though…are you trying to say something with it and if so what exactly?
My guess is that its about abortion. The baby represents all of the unborn babies, the spear thru the leg are the doctors “tools”, the floating bulbs in wire cages represent a government and/or any insitution that allows abortion, and the tar would be the sin in general.
I could be way off though.
Note: the only thing I don’t understand is why the eyes are red.
Actually, it has nothing at all to do with abortion, although that certainly is an interesting interpretation. It’s merely a graphic for my as yet unfinished website, fetusnegative.com. the site is 1)a place to showcase my writing and artwork, and 2)A satirical site about how babies are a dangerous scourge that will destroy our world and how they need to be stopped before they drown the planet in excrement. Hence the name Fetus Negative.
And the eye is red because it’s not human. its a burned-out unloved android child that was cast carelessly into the muck.
Don’t really know why, but I really LIKE this image… very creepy and bleek, I love these kinds of images! :buttrock:

Wow, amazing work. I may not know what exactly is going on. I can’t help to think this baby is HUGE from the background it is sitting on, like as if it was on gravel in a rainy playground. Could be my video card but keep it up, I like it! ![]()
