Steve's Animation Work

#1

Hello guys,
I’ve not posted on here before so forgive any forum faux pas I may commit while I’m still relatively new.

I’m currently studying an MA in 3D Animation at the University of Hertfordshire with the hopes of improving and broadening my animation skills.
The project I’m currently working on is a development on a weekly project we were set in the first few weeks of the course.
The theme is ‘Dissolution’. The idea behind my work is to animate a number of dynamic movements, in this case mostly parkour themed things, and then layer the still images up in After Effects but leave each frame up for the duration of the animation.
I’m not so good at explaining it I think so here’s an example of what I’m doing.

So you can kinda see the animation a bit clearer, here is the standard animation.

The first movement is all splined but the second movement is still in the blocking phase. Neither are fully completed to please feel free to let me know what you think I can improve on.
Oh and the blocks going up and down are just to create so cool images when it’s complete. Hopefully it’ll all layer up and look a bit crazy and cool.

Thanks very much

Steve
