Hello all. I’ve been seeing a lot of stunningly good work on these forums and finally found the courage to register too. I never entered in a challenge like this before, and a challenge it is indeed. My personal priority in this challenge is to see for myself how I’d handle the process and learn while doing so. All in good fun of course.

The sketches I posted earlier weren’t so clear, and I forgot to mention my subject. I’m going for the myth of Pandora’s Box. This is a first render of the sketches turned to 3D.

I started adding the first details to Pandora’s Box, trying to keep it as much steampunk as possible, while keeping a Victorian Age style.

Very nice start. Be nice to see more of a concept. Will the box be opened?

About the concept: I had the idea to keep the box closed, but the key in front of the viewer, to make the viewer want to open the box.
To keep it Victorian styled I want to keep the composition very sobre, classic, maybe even dull (compared to the more contemporary action based compositions).

Further work on a possible composition. I know I won’t finsih this in time but I’ll try to get as much done as possible.
