Hey. Thought I might as well get this started.

Heres the early previz. Its blocked out roughly in maya and painted over in PS. Just playing around with camera angle and composition.

As some of you may see this is inspired from a scene from a Rembrandt picture. I had this idea in mind for some time for this challenge, and now its just too tempting to try and get it made. Im thinking of doing the same kind of clair obscure thing, but with a combination of this non-delibarate lightsource from the robot, and some soft red light from some foundries in the background.

I started modelling the faces of the guys looking at the robot.

Still low-res models.

A little more modelling and determining a style for clothing. I want these guys to look like 1800. scientists and physics.

I started another character. Ill prolly do 8 or 10 characters looking at the robot. I did play around with some lighting and painted some light-ideas in photoshop.

Still playing around with light. Im thinking of a more close framing. Ill have to test that out soon.

Yes great start. Your fast at making models. Keep up the good work.

hmm 8 days - gonna be tough. Oh well.

I modelled another head and began on the robot. I changed the color-palette and made everything more warm and redish. I think it works alot better. Futhermore im slowly beginning to play around with poses.
