This is the model of a city catapult. We are still modeling the other objects and as our 3d guys are going to be very busy so we asked for some extra help for the other models.

Last saturday we shot the soldiers takes. We will be posting some pictures tomorow.

Some other views of the catapult.

Hello!!

We finally managed to shoot our soldier takes. We would like to thank Conspiração Filmes for all the support and material, Thiago Lima for the camera, Mauricio Stal for shooting, Thiago Facina for helping with the photography, and our great actors, Paulo Victor (giant greek) and Edmar Pereira (Archimedes), the other soldiers were our 3d artist Paulo Duarte and our compositor guy Ronaldo Pucci.

All the crew had a lot of work to do during that long shooting day. We started early in the morning at a soccer field gently provided by Tycoon studios, then we went to my place to shoot the aerial take and the Archimedes scene.

We all had a lot of fun during the shooting. It was a great chance to learn more about camera, light, chroma, production, acting and directing.

Hope we have time to complete all the things we want for the movie.

It was great to be at the shooting, learning and sharing all we know with each other.
We did some funny shots and some good ones too, I never thought being a Roman or Greek soldier, or acting for a short movie . I’ll send some scenes for everyone see.

It was really funny on the shooting day. Actually we said we would use live action since the beginning and now we have a lot of plates to do keying and rotoscoping. We have some good material to show for the making of.

thanks for the support and good luck to you

Here is the updated model of the city catapult made by our 3d guy and roman soldier Paulo.

The first image is a compositing test made by Ronaldo Pucci and me and the second one is our movie title made by our lovely motion designer Valerycka Rizzo.

The time is running out and we still have a lot of things to do.

thanks for the support.

ps: the soldier was holding a beer, because it was very hot that day, and he was also with the heaviest armor.
