Latest Update: Final Image: Perseus In Flight

#2

Myth: Perseus with his winged sandles fighting the sea monster with medusa’s head. In place of the sandles we have steam powered boots and a freez ray gun will be added to his other hand.

I am going to render the figure in Grey scale and then decide the colors once I get him into his background. Working on the chestplate.

#4

My internet went down for about a week so I will be uploading several tonight. Just working on the armor and suit some more.

#5

Placement compo and sea monster rough.

#6

Colors and background, I am going to try a tricky perspective.

#7

Working up the cliffs and the support structure.

#8

Man did I have a tough time trying to get a monster cover as much of the piece as I wanted with out making him really distorted. About 50% complete on the background and monster.

#9

Finally getting into the detail of the piece by working on his bio helm and the steam freez gun(head of medusa). Next I will work on his steam boots and water. Hope I have enough time to finish, All comments and advice welcome.

#10

Rendering the water and upper cliffs. Thought I would go with a green tint to the water to contrast a lot of the red in the surrounding metals.

#11

You have some nice perspective and I like the design of the suit. I think you could use a little more color as of right now. It is looking a little brown. Keep it up though!

#12

Freez Ray Blast!

#13

Final Image - Added some extra detail (rain, armor damage, and highlights).

I decided to steam punk the epic battle between Perseus and the sea monster Ketos. In place of the mythical sandles of Hermes he has steam powered lift boots, and a steam freeze gun for Medusa’s head. My goal for the piece was to paint a really dynamic perspective ( as if you were next to him in the air), and I wanted the image to have an overall dark dank grunge feel.
