Hi everybody, I couldn’t resist to enter this one. There’s some astounding artwork around already. Couldn’t finish the Uplift challenge because of my work but I swear by Crom to come with a good image this time.

First rough concept about the coming of the Vikings. I was considering a variant, the coming of the tuatha de Danaan to the British isles. As I’m spanish that’s not a subject I know enough so maybe I’ll stick with the vikings. Still lots of work ahead.

Still refining mi original idea. As perspective is fundamental in this composition I’ll help myself with a litle 3d help. I want the viking ship somewhat black and menacing. As soon as I establish the foreground characters, I’ll start to define the main colors of the image.

Here is the ship model I’m using so far, at the end image it’ll have a lot more details, maybe more sails and ropes.

Here’s a quick sketch of one of the characters on the foreground, some kind of officer shouting the coming of the vikings . There will be others, maybe maneuvering the canyons. I think the really difficult part for me will be defining the city that we see under the ship. See ya.
