Software: Photoshop

That’s my final image about the second labor of Hercules against the Lernean Hydra. Here im depicting this myth in steampunk style .Hydra is a big serpent monster created from metal and living from the fire which is giving its power .According to the myth Hydra has many heads but one is immortal, to kill the creature Hercules has to find this head and cutted off.The problem is that when he cutted off any of the heads on it place grows up two heads .This problem is solved with his special sword. In the real myth his cousin Iolaus help him to prevent doubling of the cutted heads, using fire to burn the wound which is stoping the growing of two new ones on it place. Now his steampunk sword has fire flowing trough the middle of the blade,so the blade is cutting and burnning the wound in the same time, there’s no new heads, and there’s no needing of Iolaus . On the final image I depict the moment when Hercules is charging against the Hydra, he is naked like some depiction of the ancient Greek warriors , and of him too. There’s a lot of versions of this myth in some of them there is a giant crab appering to help Hydra,in some myths Hydra has eight heads ,but in other there are twelve or between eight and twelve,I think is not known exactly, so I made eight including the heads which are cutted off, but I didn’t involve the giant crab. About the name of the Lernaen Hydra is that Lerna is a town near the swamp where is the haunt of Hydra and that why Hydra is named Lernean Hydra. The real myth is ending when Hercules chopped off the Immortal head of the Lernean Hydra, buried the head, and for a good mesures he covered it with a heavy rock.So that’s just the head line of this myth I didn’t mention the details of the battle because there are many versions with diffrent description you can check on lnternet for more details about this myth.
