Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Philip Aigner
That’s looking fantastic. Very subtle and funny; just love the poor sheep.
I thought the composition was a bit sparse, but I think it perfectly generates this whimsical atmosphere.
Looks nearly finished. Good luck!
Thanks for the comments everybody, very much appreciated. Yes, the background needs something more, I am working on it now, making some more hills. I am also adding steam coming out of the machine and steaming up the area very slightly.
Added some more background and some steam. Still gota make a door lock and play with background color.
Think this might be the final version, though Im not sure wether I will include the little tower or not.
The Philistines had been parading their giant warrior Goliath around the frontlines for days, taunting their opponents and daring them to send their strongest warrior to fight against him. David did not want to go to war, and was watching the whole scene from a hilltop where he tended his flock of sheep.
But he grew more and more angry, as he saw the great heroes of his people defeated by the giant one by one. If only he could get that mean ugly giant up to the hills, into his domain, he would teach him a lesson using the machines he had built, and his people would stop making fun of him for his strange inventions, once he showed them what they could do. Bit by bit, he started coming up with a plan.
He started feeding his sheep more than usual, stuffing them with figs, grains and grass. Then, one night when both sides of the battlefield were asleep and everything was quiet, David took his sheep and walked with them around the area where he had seen the giant march about and call insults at his brothers.
When Goliath stepped out the next day to go for his regular strut he slipped on a giant pile of sheep droppings and fell flat on his face. Everybody laughed at him even his own people and he turned red with anger. Then he saw the trail of droppings leading up into the hills and he gave an enraged shout and ran up, following the trail, vowing to kill whoever had dared to make him look like a fool. But when he got to the top of the hill, David was waiting for him, sitting high in his ?sling-o-matic? sheep launcher. The rest is history…
