Started as a one manned small flying vehicle but it got bigger as it progressed :)It is between a locomotive and ship as seen. Still has lot to do, I haven’t started detailing the sails and it needs more details on some surfaces. But I am happy with it so far.
Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Özcan Şener
Good stuff! the flying ship/machine design reminds me about some of Don Lawrence artwork. :buttrock:
Back Angel. I don’t want to go overboard on details since those house models and ships will be on the background
Thanks again everyone!
mrpeace, I think I might have to make changes to the final composition. The first one was more like a dragon-fantasy style image (dragon on the front, mountains, forest on the back). It might not work with this style though.
thanks Jason
Its kinda a junk town around a hill and cityscape ruins on the back, a mechanic dragon on the front like fantasy-steampunk style mixture
I now see …earlier the sketch you did didnt show up on my system but i see it now …this should be cool.
Started the dragon. I will make a basic standart dragon first (like the ones on the covers of dragonlance books) and then start mechanizing.
I hope I can find time to finish this challenge…
I gave up on the dragon. It got too complicated and I don’t have enough time those days. I tried to make a composition with what I have. Of course more details will come to the foreground and a bit to the background (some more houses on the hill and ruins coming out from the sea). I don’t know if I could give enough depth to the image…
Everything coming together really makes a nice scene!
What about, maybe have a copy of the ships docked at the lower part of the structure on the left, showing the back of the ship?
Nice update. I think you have enough depth in your composition. The real trick now is the lighting and atmosphere.

Thanks midpoint! Yeah, I was thinking about a ship docked there, but I am not sure if it will look nice there.
Thanks Martin. I will get to it after texturing
lovely composition. Should hopefully turn out really well when the textures are added. I think the comp has been framed well!
