I’m sure there will be lots of incarnations of Icarus in this challenge but it’s a good concept to start off with. I honestly don’t know if I’ll use this character/myth for my final but it’s a good start.

Baba Yaga is an old Slavic legend. Also lending herself perfectly for this challenge as the old witch is motorized!

Anyways, it was a quick sketch. Not sure how I feel about the image or character. It does seem like I want to do something which flies though.

Nice work so far!

Baba Yaga rides in a giant mortar and steers with an equally giant pestle. She also drags a broom from behind to cover her tracks. Maybe you can incorporate these items into the ships’ design.

Hehe cool, why not make a vehicle which is only engine :O! Would be cool if her/his hair/cloth was laying more back and flapping in the wind so the speed would be shown, right now it look quite slow. Awesome challenge right!? Keep it up!

I honestly can’t remember but the thought of a steampunk hunt on chicken legs hunting children through a forest sounds pretty creepy to my mind

Here is another concept sketch for Baba Yaga. I think I’m going to give her a mechanical leg.

I’m also considering doing the engine in 3d and at least part of the final product.

Thanks a lot for the comments guys. I’m still not sure about using this character but the more I think about it the more I want to do the old Baba.
