Alrighty I guess I’ll take a stab at this one, this will be a hell of a challenge, but hey that’s the fun of it right? :cool:

My idea in mind is to do a ‘Father Time’ type entry. More or less a representation of him in his study with gears, watches, clocks of course in the ‘steam punk’ fashion. Good luck to all! Hope to post some updates soon…

So I am terrible at concept art, but here goes nothing. My steam punk ‘Father Time’ I kind of wanted a more hip looking character. For the background, I’m going to have his study filled with gears, watches, sun dials and other gadgets.

Started modeling this weekend, got the head geometry done and a good chunk of the texturing done, about to start on the rest of his headdress and his clothing and body.

Some more modeling and texturing done on him, not too happy with his head gear yet so I will probably be going back to rework some of it soon.

Cool work.I like the eyes a lot.Maybe the skin could have some variation ,around the mouth
area.
I dig the concept.

Micro26 - Thanks! I agree on the lips, though I am still undecided on whether or not I am going to put a beard and mustache on this guy, if I decide not to I will definitely need to spend a little time throwing some more detail around his lips.

Got some more work done today. Ran a couple of simple cloth sims to throw some sleeves on him and did some work on his arms, I’m going to rework the skin texturing on his arms and hands, im happy with the displacements and bump I have for the time being. Other than that, some clothing updates and textures so far.

Reached a good stopping point for the night, starting on his lower body, made him some cloth before I go in on his legs and belt.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys, I’ve been slacking off pretty hardcore lately with the holidays coming up, so if I do complete this, it will be a photo finish.

Hopefully I can get some time this week to post another update!

I really like the dark background in frame #10…makes him really stand out nicely…Funny, the first thing that entered my mind when I saw that frame shot of him,.was…he should have a circle around him, making him the centerpiece of a timepiece/…Golden watch/clock,…with a glass covering…I think it is the positioning and length of his arms and hands, which could be pointing to the hours and minutes on the inner circumferance of a circle…The circle of TIME.
Anyway, really enjoyed seeing this piece, and I wish you the best of luck with it…:thumbsup: :slight_smile:
