Ok, quick concept for steam powered screwdriver.
Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Michael Wilson
Excellent! That is one beautiful model - I’m glad you went with the idea, it turned out really well.
Yep! Steam-powered screwdriver is excellent. I love the way you’ve designed it. I would be tempted to go with your thought about making that pressure readout a little bit bigger though
Thanks guys.
I’m planning the environment to be dark and smokey. Very minimal. I think maybe some simple walls or such. I want the focus to be on the two main characters. I think the lighting is what will sell it. Not so much realistic as theatrical.
Wow, you are really rolling! Amazing stuff so far! I especially like the steam-powered screwdriver!!
It’s too bad that it ends up so small in the final image though…but maybe making the gauge bigger like some already mentionned would help. I also like where the composition of the image is going. Keep us posted!
I’ll play around with the composition a bit more to see if I can get the Screwdriver a little closer to camera. (Not that it’s really all that great:D)
Yup, I like the background also! Can’t wait to see what it looks like behind the characters. Keep us posted!
Ok, Here is an update on the composition. I’ve been struggling with the position of Theseus and particularly his left arm. There is an unfortunate location problem with the screwdriver and the minotaur, an image I have been trying to avoid. Hopefully if all goes well it won’t be that noticeable in the final image.
cool!! this is very neat. we nearly have the same idea… well, the steam punk minotaur. Good luck to you!
don`t know but I imagined it like he is all looking to him and very alert to attack …just ideas…keep going
Haha!
I hadn’t noticed until you mentionned it!
But have you maybe tried some tests with the screwdriver in the other hand?
Also, maybe try one with the minautaurs right arm raised somehow. It might make him look more menacing. Right now it feels a bit like he’s just looking over his shoulder…
Looking forward to the next update!
Hey Mike, great progress, everything is looking good. I know how you feel about that struggle with composition. Sometimes with 3d there is a tendency to try and show all the good modeling on its front side which in turn causes a mess with composition and blocking. Maybe you can use your lighting to good effect in order to show off or downplay different areas.
