Great progress!
I alsa want to give some internal flames to my Minotaur so don’t take it as a copy
Good work!!
Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Michael Wilson
finishing already  …well I guess texturing will make it look cool can`t wait to see that textured ![]()
Wow, super-quick progress and it looks good. Only suggestions I could offer would be to make it a little less symmetrical and tweak the leg designs. To me one of the coolest parts about steampunk is that although it’s all machinery it’s all hand made, meaning you can bring in a lot of imperfections. You could bring that sort of thing through in texturing but a difference in your left/right silhouettes would be cool. Also, although the legs look good and very solid some more interesting moving parts would be cool.
great modeling, i lake the look and the feel of the minotaur
looking forward for more
Well, while working on the texturing for the Minotaur, I thought I’d work up a quick concept sketch of Theseus.
Looking though some of the other threads in this challenge, I have to say I’ve never seen so many goggles in one place before.
Hey Michael, you work fast and you work really well. That minotaur looks fantastic. I was going to ask if you’d have steam/smoke coming out but that question has been clearly answered in this new update
I agree with the others - he is looking fantastic now with the textures, really mean!
Have you any plans for how the final scene with them will look like?
Have you finished work on the legs yet? They look somewhat out of place to me when compared to the the upper body.
The top half of the model is made up of thin rounded panels with lots of embelishments on it… very “refined”. The lower half is very crude made up of large bulky pieces of metal with hard edges and no embelishments.
looks stunning textures, well done smoking work btw …
I just thing his legs don’t come up to the same level of the body textures, the body have greet details … try to improve that point …

The moment I read ur thread I was like: “What? someone really went for a steamy minotaur???”
But now I can’t wait to see it finished… u’re doing really cool!
Thanks everyone of the comments and suggestions. I’m still working on how I might compose my characters into a scene. That will take some experimentation. I can see some of your points about his legs lacking detail. I wanted them to evoke the power you might feel with a locomotive. Maybe I’ll try some more embelishments on them.
Theseus textured and ready for action.
Now I need to equip him with some sort of weapon. Anyone know of any good Steampunk stabbing type weapons? Theseus killed the Minotaur with a sword I believe, but it’s got to be a bit more interesting than just a plain old sword.
Oh, you’re moving fast and well here. Your Theseus looks really good already!
How abou a huge screwdriver? That could be an effective weapon in this case
Thanks Gunilla for that idea, I hadn’t thought of that, but that could work really well. Some kind of steam powered screwdriver.
I was thinking maybe some kind of wrench or steam powered lighting rod, but a screwdriver could work well here.
