Latest Update: Final Image: King Midas

I’m sure you all know the story of king Midas. He turned everything he touched into gold (or something else

These are my first thumbnails just to get a pitcure about the feeling of the final image…

#3

King Midas - composition analysis

#4

second thumbnail - after composition fixes

#5

I decided to open up the space in the background, so I had to design a colum that fits to the world, but it can keep the background quite ‘clean’…

#6

well… the opend up background with the columns… time to do something with the main theme…

#7

good luck and good work.
hajrá hajrá;)

#8

a little figure-research…

#9

I didn’t find the composition ballanced enough in the pitcure, so I decided to change a bit in the camera angle… Therefore I designed the basics in 3D. If I use a camera angle like this, every minor mistake becomes really visible…

#10

composition, figue and structure fixes…

#11

colour research

#12

hey. that is a really nice idea you have there. and the development as well. i can already imaging it looking awesome. The Prussian helmet (?) looks better

#13

Great stuff! The angle really is good…good luck!

#14

THX! I’m trying, I’m trying…

#15

That green-blue color looks splendid, with the golden metal of the gears it could
do very good contrast. nice composition also. keep it in!

#16

work in progress - color, lighting…
It’s not easy if I have two so different lightsources and a material that reflects both of them…

#17

work in progress - new colors and elements…

#18

Hey Kamen,

Very original idea and like a lot your concept sketches  Your WIP´s are looking really great, the composition is very nice and really cool lighting mood. Good luck and looking forward for more updates! Cheers !!

#19

Well thanks Fernando, I’ll try to do my best… I wish good luck for you too!

Very nice work. The secondary figures look a bit too static though, shouldnt they be at least reacting to what they’re seeing? Some are fleeing, and maybe one or two actually caught up and being transformed.
