placement correction
Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Iskander Cathal Mellakh
this is a bit closer to the shape of the mans head that i am looking at. I will start to add the steampunk metal to the face soon.
modeling the base mesh of the rest of the body before i add the final sculpted details in zbrush. needs posing. For a texture on the jacket i am thinking of having a red pattern in one corner of the jacket - most prob the left (his left).
added more detail to the legs and main body. Started to build the head / arm attachment to connect Medusa head to the body
almost have the head and snakes attached to the body in a way i like and think works. have a lot to texture. all of the body that is made up of panels i have split so that i can either project textures on to them or perform planer mapping and texture in Zbrush - depends on time.
first texture versions. i am going to lay out the basic texture idea for each part and then edit them as needed!
have added a few more textures. need the bodywork to have a closer and more uniform tone to the metal. maybe a little dark orange / yellow tint. face needs more work.
Your approach to the Medusa is great. I’m looking forward to seeing this thing come together for you. My only crit is that the color difference between Medusa’s face and her mechanical body is a bit strong. Try getting a similar value to match the value of the body and it will be a bit more harmonious.

i think the contrast between the two has some issues too. I will have to have a play to try and get it to flow better.
Wow! Nice work! Medusa looks really scary, especially face expression. Also this surrealistic background is pretty cool. But personally I would make snakes heads a bit bigger to make them more noticeable. Looking forward for updates. Good luck!
