Impressive work so far. I like the sense of light. I just found the pose of the right leg of your bird character is not really clear.

Hi irawan, I have been following you work on this one since I saw you design and have to say this is probably my favorite entry so far. I saw that you updated your previous image with a new one that you had added some new details to the bird and wolf and background. I have been flipping back and forth between the one you had posted before this update and comparing them. I like the added contrast in the image,the extra detail on the birds hair on his head, lighting on the rocks, and the wolf’s face.

I am not sure if I am digging the the eyes(and teeth) in the darknes though because to me they are kind of destracting and take away from the main focal interest of the piece. The more I look at it I don’t know if I am telling myself they are ok but my first look at the new image posted definitely brought my eyes up to those in the darkness. I have tried looking at the different versions from a distance to see what effect that has on what my eyes focus on but I am not sure I am just accepting the eyes in the darkness the more I look at the composition. Maybe you could dim them a little or something or post a version with them, without them and dimmed; just a suggestion. Maybe some other members could chime in and give their opinion on them. Best of luck with the contest, I’m pretty certain you will win one of the awards.

It’s absolutely one of my favorites entries in this challenge. I was out of town (and internet) for a while so I only saw your first sketch, so I’m pretty impressed by progress you’ve made. Awesome job. Though I must agree with phr0stbite that these eyes in background distract me too. Good luck, waiting for more.

That’s an amazing progress, the whole piece is shaping up greatly.The live, dramatic pose, the colors and the detailing are truly well depicting such characters

Amazing work man. Very cool character u got there and with each update its getting better and better.Only critic would be to make the right hand have finger blades like u did on the other side.

In Greek mythology, Stymphalian birds were man-eating birds with wings of brass and sharp metallic feathers they could launch at their victims, and were pets of Ares, the god of war. Furthermore, their dung was highly toxic. They had migrated to Lake Stymphalia in Arcadia to escape a pack of wolves, and bred quickly and took over the countryside, destroying local crops and fruit trees. Ridding the land of these birds was one of Heracles’ Twelve Labors, and some sources claim the Stymphalian birds were the same avians that attacked the Argonauts.

My Stymphalian birds nearly finish, but right now i have another idea for this challange,“the last tooth from arthur”(tooth fairy-myths).it is small joke about tooth fairy, he taked the last tooth from arthur which make arthur wake up and angry…,i need your opinion…do you think this story/concept better then my Stymphalian birds?. thanks a lot! best

Hi,really great artwork at your birds ,

i like your previous idea and your new idea looks cool ,i dont know if there is any mythical background about this new concept or not, cos i’m not very familiar with west mythology…
if there is any refrence in web like wikipedia please share with us to clear undrestanding…

wow, you’re really impressive, i’m still struggling to finish my one concept, and you’re doing two. The one with the birds looks really great, and the other one is also very promising, it can be very elegant in its simplicity. As t owhich one you should enter, i’d probably look at other entries and see which one is more unique by comparison. They both look great so i can’t think of any other way to choose. Anyway good luck man

The fact that you’re doing two entries is very impressive! Both of them are looking really good but I, personally, like the first one more, the one with the bird, it just has a lot more going on, it’s more dynamic and more exciting to look at. The second one looks fabolous as well, great lighting and colors.

But I second what Rivenis said about choosing later on. Good luck and keep on impressing us!

Hi there. Both pieces look great, as stated by pretty much everyone. I agree that at this point u shud wait until both r complete then choose the best. Nice job so far tho. I personally prefer the tooth fairy 1 because it has a different tone
