It is great. It is hard to believe that those sketch lines turned out into such a clean rendering. Maybe you should try to add more components to the background.
Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: heri irawan
Hey Hiri,
I’m telling ya… It’s hard to pick which color palette looks the best. They both work really well. I’m loving the illustration thus far… Very impressive work. If I had to choose… I’d go with your second color palette. I like it because there’s the cool green in the foreground and the warmer colors by the beast behind him. it gives a nice contast.
Nice job.
hey man ! my jaw is on the floor watching your work at your website . r u a human or a visual production robot .
wow ! so inspiring ! so motivational !
i am a 1 third of a pixel right now !
i stay with the first one it seem more steampunkish
ps: no doubt you are one of the winners and my favorite artist of the year
jaw
Thanks!i also feel the same with you, i will work with the second color to go more detail
thanks so much for your big compliment!yes, i am a visual production robot, my working time is more then for other think, but right now i try to be in steampunk challage.hope i have time to go for more detail
wow this is great … but can’t really decide between green or red, both have its appeal…
Thanks a lot!i think i will stop first and wait for more feedback…one more, thanks everybody who take time for giving me some feedback.
Cant believe is have only just discovered this entry! The way it is laid out is really exciting. Those wolves remind me of the armoured bears in ‘Northern Lights’.
Thanks! i just have a look how the armoured bears in 'Northern Lights look like, i think is difficult to make really original, because nearly everything already exists somehow.
the wolves i did is not using a costum but his organ is steampunk.
absoluteley fantastic!! great dynamic poses! great light! can´t point out a single thing that bothers me!
You definitely deserve one of the awards!
Hi irawan, I have been following you work on this one since I saw you design and have to say this is probably my favorite entry so far. I saw that you updated your previous image with a new one that you had added some new details to the bird and wolf and background. I have been flipping back and forth between the one you had posted before this update and comparing them. I like the added contrast in the image, the extra detail on the birds hair on his head, lighting on the rocks, and the wolf’s face.
I am not sure if I am digging the the eyes(and teeth) in the darknes though because to me they are kind of destracting and take away from the main focal interest of the piece. The more I look at it I don’t know if I am telling myself they are ok but my first look at the new image posted definitely brought my eyes up to those in the darkness. I have tried looking at the different versions from a distance to see what effect that has on what my eyes focus on but I am not sure I am just accepting the eyes in the darkness the more I look at the composition. Maybe you could dim them a little or something or post a version with them, without them and dimmed; just a suggestion. Maybe some other members could chime in and give their opinion on them. Best of luck with the contest, I’m pretty certain you will win one of the awards.

Amazing!
