Just hashing out a quick idea using Beowulf and Grendel. Beowulf holding Grendel’s arm as he uses a cutting torch to remove the appendage. Just an idea.

Another sketch, this time using the Deadalus and Icarus tale. I’m not too sure which way to go. Is Beowulf considered a legend/myth?

Thanks for the kind words val! And good luck to you too!

Hah, that was odd. I thought about using BOTH these myths. Had them among a list of potential subjects. Lucky me I’d already decided to go for another ^_^.

I think Beowulf is considered more as a legend. I guess it could be labled as a hero-myth though. The story mention historical events and (I think) characters, but obviously it deals with fictional matters too.
The popular usage of the words myths and legends are not that very distinct. Some aspects of myths are, by the the culture it pertains, sometimes considered as truth/history. So the myth turns into a legend in these cases. So I guess it’s relative. :S

Now I’m not exactely a professor on this matter (I just looked it up on Wikipedia) so I could be wrong.

Anyways, enough of my mouth-pooping. Nice and interesting concepts so far!
