This is going to be my first ‘big’ image… I’ve been working with Maya for two years now, mainly visualising small commercial products, but the moviebuff inside me always wanted to do something more challenging.
I’ll be ‘steampunking’ the story of the cyclops Polyphemus… and some dude named Odysseus, but he’ll be so small in the picture, you’ll have to strain your eye to see him…
Polyphemus will have been a regular giant at one point in his life but some kind of horrible fight or accident would hve left him with half his face and one shoulder missing. Fortunately for him some enterprising genius will have patched him up with his own steampowered lifesupport and will have managed to save one of his eyes. And there we have our backstory for a steampunked cyclops.
The cyclops cave will be a cross between a regular old cave and a large Victorian-style building, like a trainstation or a greenhouse. (Lots of ornate steel girders and glass.)
I have started work on the cave and I will upload my scetch of Polyphemus, shortly.
