Great Concept, those lamp posts look great!

#42

Those lamps are beautifull dude:thumbsup:

#43

Hey Christopher,

Great and very original idea!! really cool!!. Great models and designs so far. This concept can have a great mysterious and magic mood  Cant wait to see your whol concept!! Cheers!!

#44

Hi Chris. Good looking lamps. I just can make up my mind if the base is to big or the top looks to small. some adjustment either way would help a bit I think. Looking forward to see them in the scene.

#45

Excellent design Christopher! Those lamps are very well crafted and will definitely raise the
level of romance in the scene! Cool shapes!
Perhaps the center spherical shape could benefit from a few bolts and hard edges here
and there!?
Can’t wait to see the whole scene with all the parts together!

The lamp posts are looking really good. They work well already, or you could even steampunk them a little further with (perhaps) the addition of some wing-nuts to secure those bends/joints. That’s just a minor suggestion though which you must feel free to ignore - it’s already working really well and fits in superbly with the look of the rest of your work

#47

Yes… these lamps are so cool… great mix !

#48

Sabrina - Thanks! Now I finally understand what you were talking about! Yeah, those edges were not perfect because in my mind, I was seeing these lamposts on each corner! Now they work fine when the lamposts are there!

Shawn - Thanks! Yeah, I’m working on the middle part of the fountain right now, then when that is done, I’ll post an update with all the parts put together!

James, Roshan, Fernando, Laurent - Thanks for the support guys!

Per - Yeah, thanks for the info, I noticed that as well, not sure though which I should make bigger/smaller, but I figured I’d adjust that once everything is put together, it’ll be easier then to figure out which to adjust.

Mat, Mark - Thanks for the suggestions, those are noted. I will figure out my final camera angle, then I’ll probably go back and add some details in the places that need it. I’m already very short on time, and I don’t want to over-work on things that might not been seen all that well in the final image. But those are both good suggestions of details to add when I get there! Thanks!

Victorian style always gets my vote.Cool models u got there and look very interesting to texture.
Go on:thumbsup:

#50

Thanks for stopping by Fotis! I’m a huge fan of your entry! I still have a few models to finish before I start texturing…but I’m looking forward to it myself! I’ll try and have the next update up soon! I’ll keep you guys posted!

#51

Hurry up, I want to see an update :stuck_out_tongue:

#52

Hey guys! I’m still working on the middle part of the fountain…I know…it’s taking a while! But in the meantime, here’s a shot of the base of the fountain put together. The steps, trash cans, etc. aren’t there, it’s just a quick shot to show how the actual base of the fountain will look like. This will in turn be on top of the steps. Anyway, I’ll try and have that update of the middle part up very soon!

Hi Chris!
Man, this is fantastic! Kind of a romantic hideout you would take your date to, under the
moonlight and birds song! I’m very curious how the place will look like with shading and
lighting set up!
Hope you can find enough time to make it work, this is a great concept!
Good luck!

#54

Nice progress on modeling Dude:)

#55

Hi Christopher,

yep, this looks very good so far:cool: . I’d perhaps make the lamp posts a little higher, but of course this depends on your final framing…Looking forward to see the modeling finished and I just hope you can speed up things a little, I guess the texturing will be much work and time is running!

Hey everyone! As the January 12th deadline looms ever so near, I unfortunately won’t be able to finish my entry in time for the competition. Sadly, the challenge came at a very very busy time of the year for me, right through the holidays, I also had a lot of overtime here at work before Christmas, and I’m also currently working 2 jobs, which means I’ve been working 7 days-a-week since mid-November. I tried using every little bit of free time I had and try to make something in time for the challenge, but I’m afraid that wasn’t enough. I really commend those who worked really hard and are going to be able to finish their entries in time!

I would like to thank everyone who posted on my thread, and all the “regulars” who were there with me every step of the way. This was my first challenge here, and you guys really have made it special! I’m looking forward to seeing you around again some day in a future challenge, which will hopefully come at a better time for me!

Take care!
Christopher

#57

I understand Work is first:). So no more updates.

#58

Sad, but it’s often like that, the work must pass before…
I hope you’ will have the motivation to finish your image after anyway… for your portfolio :buttrock:

good continuation Christopher

#59

I also hope to see this finished, the idea was really good and with your solid start I can well imagine a beautiful scene…

And you know: after the challenge is before the next challenge, so I hope to see you with another entry then, it was nice to have you here, very simpatico:)

Hey guys! Thanks! Yes, indeed. To me it’s not worth loosing sleep over…but hopefully I will be able to find some regular free time soon enough to finish this for my portfolio. I would like to see it finished also!

Again, thank you guys for supporting me through this challenge, it’s been a blast!
