Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Ben Harrison
Well this is my start to the comp, since starting I’ve already changed what I want to do already. But Hey.
The figure is a gold filigree, clock work tooth fairy based on the style of an old fashioned pocket watch.
Created as a flat mesh then warped and extruded. Not happy with the actual pattern but the technique seems to work. Hopefully, most of the body parts will be created in this way.
Never thought of doing that. I like you concept by the way. Are there going to be internal moving parts as well. The sketch is so pure and i like it the way it is but i was just wondering…
Thanks. Yeah I plan to have a pocket watch like mechanism in the chest cavity and bones running inside the Filligree outer shell each connected up to the main mechanism with fine wire running through loops on the bones like a fishing rod.
Improve pattern for the Filigree, this will be come the forearm. I plan to do a rope edge top and bottom.
Well an extension
still doubt I’ll have time to finish but going to give it a go.
Changed the way I’m producing the Filigree. Now using alpha materials rather than creating it using a mesh. Doesn’t look quite as good but much kinder to my poor processor.
