Hello. This is my first time I enter CGChallenge. My idea of this piece would be focus around ‘Anubis’. He’s the one who would judge you after death if you would go to The Fields of the Reed or got eaten by the Ammut and die fot the 2nd time.

what I’m still doing here is try to find some simply post then I could go to put more details, a real details, that would appear in the WIP step. May be the next time I post I might be able to show you more about the athmosphere and detail. later.

Even I think I can see it clearly in my head what would the final image should look like but sketch the detail might be the better thing to do. I still don’t like his upper part and the whole design not really look much steampunk (more like anime-steampunk) but I’ll left it like this since there much more thing to do and they look quite fine.

Anyway I have already make thing like a dummy of where should his body post and parts are. So then if I get bored of sketch design I could jump to do 3D work. It should be fine because I wanted to just modelling and then put them wherever I want instead of modelling then riging then posting it… I’m not that good.

I have create some gears to put them together in the progress as the parts of my character. This way of work really save my time because just a little tweak they could be the shape and size that I want and even fill the part to make more detail. I think what I will do next is to create some screw since it should be useful too.

I just have time to finish his lower body. I wish I could finish his whole body within next week or else I might not be able to finish whole picture in time.

My work quite busy but I still try to finish this competition in time. still got his head, hands and some prop left. Then I would see if I could do wall and some flying city as background and air ship as foreground in 3d.

In the end I could finish his body in time even he still look a little funny. Background and foreground still in progress. I might post them once they’re done. Deadline really behind my back but I still wish I could finish the whole picture in time.

Anubis is the jackal-headed god of the dead who will weight your heart after your death. Do too much bad thing and your heart will be eaten by Ammut then your soul will be vanish foreaver. Only the good one will be rest in peace at The Field of Reed.

My steampunk version of Anubis is the giant ancient robot who protect the way to The Field of Reed. Behind him is Ammut, the gate with crocodiel and lion head like, which is the only way to go in. Only the choosen one may past this way. The other may turn back or be death at this door.
