Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Anna Berentsen
My idea for this challenge was to use the Greek Goddess Artemis, who was the Goddess of the moon and of hunting, and put her in kind of steam-punk Victorian gear. I think Victorian and Grecian stuff actually works pretty well together, especially with the hairstyles, so it seemed like a pretty natural marriage.
So this is my steam punk bow for the Goddess Artemis. I really wanted to do a classic bow-and-arrow style one, and not a cross bow, so that was a bit of a challenge because I think a crossbow is a little more typically steam punk. I looked at a bunch of different traditional bows and used the basic structure of a few combined, but the design is my own.
This is the basic color light and composition I’m going to go with for now. The idea is that since she’s a Goddess the golden light is actually coming from her skin and lighting the scene, along with the moonlight.
