Latest Update: Concept / pre-visualization: Lucifer’s Wings - Specimen I

I’m a bit new to this cg coloring thing, as I am a mainly traditional artist, but I figured the best way to learn is to jump in headfirst and challenge myself…therefore I toss my gauntlet into the fray!
I have chosen the story of the Fall as retold in the first part of the epic poem by John Milton in Paradise Lost.
From the journal of Dr. Artemus Milton, PhD.:
June 1, 3087, Day 1
The first day of our dig at the ruins of the library and already we are uncovering the curious account of these winged creatures. Like heretics of old, they seemed inclined to break the link between earth and sky…and from the remains we’ve unearthed, it seems they succeeded.
This particular document we recovered in tattered, but fair, condition shows the first endeavors to create a means to fly which integrates the aesthetics of the human form with the clothing and musculature of the wearer.
Curious, as these wings on their own do not seem to be able to support the wearer and are crafted delicately with seeming specific attention to integrating beauty with form.
More tomorrow as the tunnelers breach the inner sanctums of the library.
