Right now I’m toying with two ideas, neither of them rooted in classical mythology and (sadly) neither of them has sparked that “yes! that’s what I’m going to do!”-feeling for me:

  1. Nostradamus gazing into the future: the old seer in a steampunk environment where he uses a huge telescope (with lots of pipes and cogs and valves and copper and brass and… well, you get the picture) to look into the future

  2. Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde: Dr Jekyll in his mechanical lab building a big steampowered robot he codenamed “Mr Hyde”; the idea is that the good doctor becomes evil once he gets inside the robot

So, any preferences?

I think the Nostradamus one could be interesting. But you’d have to sell in such a way that you could tell it was Nostradamus.

Sorry for not replying sooner but I’ve been tied up with work and deadlines!

Yes, as it looks now I will go with the Nostradamus theme. My idea is to have Nostradamus standing at his huge steam powered telescope gazing into the future. The environment will be a mix of medieval observatory and steampunk and as Nostradamus according to legend had the ability to see the future there will be technical gadgets from various eras scattered around the room (a computer, TV, radio, etc., all in steampunk style).

Hey, this thread is still sadly empty. Any hope of seeing anything, or are you much too busy? I know how work can get sometimes.

Well, as you guys have probably figured by now I’m not participating in this challenge. I had a few ideas but none of the really sparked my imagination and that combined with computer problems and deadlines turned out to be a bad combination. It’s a shame because the theme is right up my alley but what can you do when the inspiration is on vacation?

Anyway, there will be more challenges!
