Spotlight as stencil?

#1

Painting/sculpting over stencil affects only the white (bright) areas of the stencil. Painting/sculpting with the spotlight applies anything that the image in the spotlight contains. It would be great if you can use spotlight as a stencil. Is this possible?

Thanks

use stencil as stencil
select a alpha then alpha>transfer>make st
then turn alpha off then use the space bar to see the coin,
all so look under stencil menu for more options

Yes, I am using stencil, but I wondered if I can use spotlight as a stencil since it is quicker to use.

Thanks, anyway.

stencil has a option called wrap mode and spotlight does not have wrap mode,
this means Stencil will wrap the alpha around the object and spotlight only gives you 2D not 3D
because spotlight does not wrap,
in other word spotlight might look good but soon as you turn the object a bit you might not like the results, because its doing it in 2D not 3D.
spotlight Works in 1 working axis and wrap mode works in all axis
