I’ve been selecting the curve and hitting delete (in poly mode) to kill the polys while preserving the points. Then select the points and make open curve for each curve. A bit of a pain, however I have to pretty much rebuild every curve this way (if curve was created with a curve tool) before patching or else modo crashes. On a brighter note, you can select two curves and merge polys to join two curves.
