Venice, CA & Detroit, MI – (November 23, 2009) – Digital production studio Speedshape has named Steven Spieczny as Managing Director. With the addition of Spieczny, Speedshape elevates its pioneering role as leaders of the digital production model, while refining its increasingly prominent role in shaping branding, marketing and advertising deliveries, as traditional media continues shifting to digital. Utilizing CG to revolutionize integrated digital marketing, Speedshape, renowned for its proprietary digital pipeline and award-winning VFX, delivers digital assets and creative solutions for a broad range of globally recognized agencies of record, as well as direct clients for multiple media platforms.

“We’re incredibly excited to have Steven on board,” notes Oivind Magnussen, Speedshape President & Co-Founder. “His breadth of experience within classic production, software and the digital domain, coupled with his proven record of rapidly winning, growing and nurturing client relationships is hard to find. With Steven in place, Speedshape is now poised for significant growth as we serve our global agencies and direct clients.”

“With a rich CG heritage, Speedshape has long been a mainstay in the digital production realm, always at the forefront, creatively and technologically,” remarks Spieczny. “To now be a part of that is a wonderful opportunity, which I’m eager to embrace, as Speedshape continues to drive the evolving landscape of digital production.”

Spieczny’s expertise in brand experience, creative execution and multi-platform deliveries in broadcast, online, digital, and emerging platforms will further propel Speedshape’s presence at the forefront of digital production. Previously as Chief Market Officer at Method, the global design studio, Steven’s powerful heritage of design innovation and content production experience led to award-winning international achievements: most recently the Pixel, Webby and OMMA Awards in 2007-2008 for leading web, device and virtual experiences in collaboration with clients including Bertelsmann, TED.com, Comcast/Fancast.com, CIGNA and Electronic Arts. Spieczny now bolsters Speedshape’s award-winning team, which recently garnered “Best in Show” honors at the JD Power Automotive Internet Roundtable for Chevy’s 2010 Camaro Cross-Platform Design, part of an integrated campaign via Campbell-Ewald.

Spieczny says joining Speedshape marks a two-fold homecoming: he returns to the production world from an earlier career in New York as line producer for commercials and music videos, working with classic AORs such as JWT and Saatchi & Saatchi, as well as pioneering production companies such as O Pictures; secondly, it is a return to Los Angeles where Spieczny previously resided, working as SVP of Business Development at Schematic/WPP. Here, Spieczny led the company’s sales efforts into a 162% top-line growth rate within three years, helping solidify Schematic’s acquisition by WPP in 2007.

“When it comes to digital companies, Speedshape is the cornerstone of the modern market,” concludes Spieczny. “Combine compelling design creativity and proven technology expertise with strategic thinking, and you have an unparalleled offering. At Speedshape, we think it, produce it and deliver it – and clients reap the benefits. Through my career, I have rarely seen this to be true, but at Speedshape, I can say it is.”
