This is last deviation from me this year. See you in 2009.
Happy new year to all of you.
Tnx for comment. I have to work on lighting, shading, color palete, perspective, anatomy actually on everything.
I loved the the painting 11. Did you took any reference for the helicopter? I loved the lighting of the environment. Did you use hard brush in your paintings intentionally? I also liked the little bird but it would be more better if you use soft brush instead of hard one.
If i use it, i wrote. And yes, i took reference.
I made an quick update of bird but didn’t upload it on this forum. Here it is:http://fc92.deviantart.com/fs38/f/2008/363/9/b/Speed_Paint_13_by_ales_kotnik.jpg
Hey wo0lF, i’ve enjoyed sifting through your book here =). The reference studies are paying off i see def. improvement in your overall technique. You seem to like reflective materials and you handle them very well. Someone earlier had mentioned your edge control needing work…i would keep wokring on this…and perspective as well. For example, this latest reflective ball on the leaf image…the shading, value and colors are great…but it lacks crispness and accuracy. I understand these are just speed paints, but pay attention to key lines and shapes. Also, it might help to start some images from a pencil/line sketch just to know where the boundaries are. Keep wokring hard and you will learn a lot!
Thanks for comment Zach. Totally agree with you and yes, i really like reflective materials
Here are some more quick photo studies:
