Spectrum Flares/Highlights?

#1

Hi

I need some help to accomplish a colored spectrum flare.

See reference video/image:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2hR97Ovoec&feature=related

The Flares/Highlights are not only WHITE, they are colored by the spectrum in diamonds. So I can`t only change the color settings to yellow, because the color is changing all the time compared to the spectrum of the gemstone.

How do I render out this Colored Flares?
Possible to add it in After Effects?

Any tips??

Could be Trapcode’s Starglow.

But If I use Trapcode dont I need to manually place the glares?

I want it to generates star shaped glints at locations where the Source clip is brighter than the threshold.

There its bright colors/whitenes, a glare will be placed.

Is it possible? Because I dont have the time to place over 100 glares for a video :), It must be something.

Might be the thing I`m looking for, I like the glares that Trapcode can produce. But.

How can I get the same Glare Color compared where its placed?

Lets say a spectrum color Purple is visible on the diamond, then I want a Purple Glare (and not Green). The Glare should Match the underlying Color of the video footage

Is it possible?

Thanks for the help btw.

There is a threshold slider in starglow. Or you can just duplicate your render pass and level/curve it.

The threshold sliders seems to work, great,

But, How do I get the same color on the Glare as the “surface”?

If the highlight reflection is blue, I want a Blue Glare, If the highlighted reflection is Yellow, I want a yellow Glare. I want the underlying surface color match the Glare.

Is it possible?
