Sources for professional, in-depth video tutorials

Hey all,

I am an amateur 3D modeler and animator. I just love following along with video tutorials. Seven years ago I found Digital Tutors and fell in love. So much wonderful, engaging content. I got my start through them. A few years later, though, they were bought out by Pluralsight. They have done their best to add some good content over the years, but it lacks the depth and sophistication that Digital Tutors had. Most new 3D content is for beginners.

I can always continue with YouTube, but I thought I would ask you guys. Are there other sources for video instruction that I’m not utilizing? I’m familiar with Udemy. There are some there, but not like Digital Tutors used to have.

Thanks in advance guys!

Also Gumroad and ArtStation are utilized by many artists as platforms to sell their individually authored content.

Well when first starting out, there really wasn’t that much of a choice for people too source quality online tutorials in 2003/4. Probably at that time, if memory serves via a ‘self-taught’ route, I would’ve made use of sites like BlenderArtists, Blender Underground or indeed 3DTotal investing copious amounts of time and effort to just grind through project after project, steadily progressing in both scope alongside complexity.

Though nowadays, it’s possibly an equal split between Gumroad and Udemy, simply because of the extensive high caliber content available, at a comparatively in most cases cheap price point which are also authored by working professionals, as well, since my specialization is mechanical hard surface.

So, as an example, if on occasion some particular issue needed rapid resolution when up against a given client deadline. Typically just scrubbing through applicable material from a now comprehensive personal video library, built upon over the years, would in turn often resolve the problem in a timely manner.
