Some tips for me

Hello guys i am a new member here , i am learnign cinema 4d around 4 months.

I need your help to give me some tips , advice , how can i make a metal cylinders like on this animation ? http://vimeo.com/11213270 , i was trying to make a cylinder object then i divided it for couple of segments and i have added extrude from mograph then i add random effector but the effect was completly different than this :stuck_out_tongue: so if u have any smart tips for me i will be grateful for your help

Just animate height and set Axis Point to Bottom side.

Thank You , this slice option help me a little , but i used also some mograph options and now i got the reslut i wanted to get
