About Us:

Solar System Studios has been in the industry for around four years as a Design Consultancy company. Now we are taking that big step from small indie to full on Commercial Game Development. At the moment we are looking for skilled individuals who would voluntarily join us to aid in creating our Design Pitch Demo.

Our Workflow:

Who We Are Looking For:

*Relocation is not required at this time. We are working mainly over the internet. We do however have plans to set up small development offices in USA next year after our demo has been pitched to publishers. Also our Head Offices in the United Kingdom.

Producer:

As a production director you are asked to keep track of the team, You will also work very closley with the CEO, Art Director,and Lead Game Designer. Your tasks will be to manage the team and motivate them to work. You will also have the option to organize the production of the Pitch Demo were all work is assest by the Lead Game Designer.

Organization is a key in MMO development and we are asking for a very organized person. You dont need previous industry experiance although it is prefered.

Game Designer

Description: A game designer is someone with creative ideas, a mind of which the imagination is the limit. As Ancient World Online wants to change MMORPG genre, we are requiring talented and creative individuals to come join our design team. Working under the Lead Game Designer you will be able to take simple notes into a full fledge story.

Responsibilities:

*Creating The World Lore for the game, this will allow players to read into the worlds history and really get into the role-playing system
*Document the game design and communicate the vision of game systems to leads and team members
*Participate in game design, content, and new feature discussions
*Work with the technical staff to design and improve tools
*Work with the world building team to implement content.

Requirements:

Experience playing massively multiplayer online games.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience the RPG genre and story written lore
Passion for games and detail design
Experience balancing game systems and content.
Strong creative writing or analytical skills.

Must have a huge interest in the SCI-FI genre and have a wide range of games he/she has played. You will be required to set up balancing sheets and stat release forms as well as the main ideas of the game such as the skill system tree and the games economy level system.

At hand you will be able to work along side the producer and other game designers as well as the concept team.

A true visionary game designer is what we look for, not just the story and background behind the game but the look and feel of the game is what we seek.

Art Director

Description: Creating the Art style Document, setting the visual style and ensuring that all art tasks are carried out on time and in the correct style by the Art Department. The Art Director is also expected to have skills in both 2D & 3D Art.

Responsibilities:

*Keeping the Art Department on task and increasing team morale
*Setting a visual document (Art Bible) for the game
*Participate in game design, content, and new feature discussions
*Work with the artists to improve concepts and models,
*Work with the world building team to implement content.
*Work with the design team to help create the vision of the game.

Requirements:

Experience playing massively multiplayer online games.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent Skills in 3d Modelling
Excellent Skills in 2d Concept art
Understanding of game art and visual creation
Storyboarding (although isn’t required some experience would go far)
Passion for games and detail design

Lead Programmer

The Lead Programmer is responsible for managing a team of programmers which will be implementing game code under the direction of the you, as well as maintaining your own and existing code. Together with the other programmers they contribute to all technical aspects of game development.

Responsibilities:

*Keeping the Programming Department on task and increasing team morale
*Setting a Technical document for the game
*Participate in game design, content, and new feature discussions

Requirements:

Experience playing massively multiplayer online games.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Advance Skills in C/C++
Advance Skills in Python & XML
Understanding of MMO game creation process

Programmer

4 positions available

The Lead Programmer is responsible for managing a team of programmers which will be implementing game code under the direction of the you, as well as maintaining your own and existing code. Together with the other programmers they contribute to all technical aspects of game development.

Responsibilities:

*Building on the game client with other programmers implementing/enhancing Quests, Chat System, Guild System etc
*Creating a online database (although one programmer needs to specialize in this)
*Participate in game design, content, and new feature discussions

Requirements:

Experience playing massively multiplayer online games.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Skills in C/C++
Skills in Python & XML (Python Is A Must For Game Scripting)
Understanding of MMO game creation process

Environment Artist (Level Designer)

4 positions available

The Level Designer is responsible for creation of the game worlds. Using Bigworlds Bigbang editor the environment artists can with ease modify terrain in real-time and place content in real-time within the game. The Level designers will be working with the game designers to ensure the vision and visual properties of the game is kept.

Responsibilities:

*Creation and maintenance of the game worlds
*Creating next generation visually stunning terrain and environments
*Creating suitable environments to the MMO genre

Requirements:

Experience playing massively multiplayer online games.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent understanding in MMO design & environmental work
Content placement skills which graphical enhance worlds
Terrain generation and organic content generation (using the tools provided)

3D Artist

5 positions available

A 3D artist must show high knowledge and understanding of the work he/she has to task in hand. Modelling from pictures/descriptions/and concept the artist must be able to create high quality models for in game.

4 types are available

• Character
• Environmental (world designers)
• Items, weapons
• buildings

If you specialize in more than one that is a extra and will be noticed in the interview.

We support, Maya, 3ds Max 7+, Wings 3d, MilkShape, Truespace 3d.

Note: We like to see the artists as very imaginative and show a wide interest and accessibility into there creative minds. Working with the game designers through visionary and descriptive speech/documents you then must translate it into forms of artwork which then can be passed onto the next phase and ready for the 3d art department.

Concept Artist

5 positions available

As a Concept Artist you will be responsible for creating original artwork for game design documents and promotional material. This will involve the design and visualization of characters, vehicles and environments

Description: Applicants should be skilled in level of design and sketch art and crafting; objects, buildings and also characters (may apply). Terrain sketching and environmental work is a must within a artist. Applicants should also have experience working within technical design parameters and also graphical enhancement and show a great determination on construction and fine art. Applicants should be able to work with the game engine concept in order to produce, design or creative an ideas roll, the ability to work from concepts and the ability to collaborate within a team environment to create the visually stunning results required for best quality work.

Responsibilities:

Working directly with the Art director. You are responsible for creating the concepts. Participate in a weekly Artists and Animators meeting, to communicate the weekly planning and review work in progress.

Photoshop or other experience with photo editing software
Sketch, Fine Print Concepts
Create work flow and schedule
Meet project deadlines and milestones as set by Lead Art Director.
Assist within the project borders
Have 1+ years of applicable experience of a Concept Designer (2D)
