Will there be a demo ?

Regards,
Mike

Hello Mike,

thanks for your interest. There is actually no demo version available, as it is difficult to strike a balance between limiting the features and making it possible for the user to check out the plugin. There are, however, some demonstration videos about the plugin settings and results available on the product page. If you have any more questions about the plugin, please feel free to contact us.

best wishes,
Constantin from 48design

Hey guys! Sorry for double-posting, but we thought that this might sound interesting to you: If you buy the plugin before Monday, 15 February 2010, 10:30am (CET), you will now get more than 15% off!

Cheers!

Now it’s even getting a triple-post! But I hope that is still better than opening a new thread…

We just thought it might be interesting to you to see what we are currently working on…
Take a glimpse at our latest video, showing a preview of a brand new feature called “SnowPrint”, which will be included in the next release of SnowFlow, coming soon!

what i actually am missing in those demos is that the snow doesnt seem to ‘heap up’.

I may be saying it wrong (bad english) but what i mean is when you push snow, it will for little ‘hills’. I hope you understand what i mean…

#9

You are right, it does not make what you suggest. This is because SnowPrint does not interact with the surface mesh itself but creates some bump/displacement maps for rendering. The results of SnowPrint are bitmaps that look like an “inverted” bump map and are used with negative bump/displacement values so white does not make “hills” but “valleys”.
To make both (hills and valleys) we would have to deform the mesh itself or use a mid grey for the “blank” texture and make white spots for hills and black spots for valleys. Maybe that gets implemented in another release of SnowFlow… who knows!
It could also be paired with some particles to let the snow splatter around… dream

chriitur- if you want snow to ‘heap up’, use pflow creating particles which are then piped to a displacement modifier acting on the ground with flex applied on top pof the stack…who needs plugins?

Hello 48design

can your tool be used to make footprints in the sand as well? if so how to buy it?is there a tutorial on using it?

Nildo

#12

Hi nildoe,

you can make footprints in whatever you want, it’s not restricted to snow. Please keep in mind that footprints in sand would normally displace some sand around the footprints. That’s a phenomena we don’t mimic with SnowPrint, because normally snow is “melting” under the pressure of the foot and so there is no or not really much displacement around footprint areas. SnowPrint beeing a part of our SnowFlow plugin, we limit the printing possibilities to those useful for imprints in snow.
You can buy SnowFlow at www.zwischendrin.com which will include SnowPrint in the next release. A tutorial will be available soon, too.

Hi nildoe,

as I wrote earlier in this thread: we don’t have a demo/trial of SnowFlow but we hope to show with some videos how easy it is to use SnowFlow and SnowPrint. A new video will be available soon!

#15

Hello 48design
