Snap brush to curve

Hi,
is it possible to snap my current brush to an existing curve so I can paint along the curve manually and only on the curve segments I want to (and not the complete curve at once)?

try the curve standard brush in polypaint mode with zadd off,
if you want to paint just the segment then you can, if you want to add to the segment then put your cursor at the end point and you will see a solid red line meaning you can add

But it I have no luck here. It always sculpts the whole curve at once and not only the area my brush is located at.
Would be nice to be able to sculpt/paint only the area on a curve I want to but not the complete curve. Extend/cut the curve seems to be the way to go here like you reccommend.

Nice tuts and tools you provide there on youtube btw.
