smoothing out a pan

Hey guys,

I have some footage of a short pan I shot the otherday…

My problem is that the pan is not a very smooth motion, what would be the best way of smoothing the shot out?
(I have access to Premier, After Effects and Fusion)

well you could use the tracker in after effects or fusion and use the stabilize or remove jitter function. this will take the shaky tracking and smooth out the spline curve to make it a smoother movement. You may have to crop in on your image a bit if you see the edges in frame. The problem is that after effects and fusion both have terrible trackers. You will have lots of fixes and manual keying to do to get it right. Nuke seems to zoom through complex tracks everytime or mocha…oh hah there is mocha tracker available in newer versions of AE so you may be all se.

I would freeze frame it, create a plate and add a pan by hand.
