Smooth a sphere

WHen I try to smooth a sphere, I found a cone on the side of the sphere. Just wonder why it look like that?

It looks like that is one of the sphere’s poles, so there are numerous edges connected to a single point, which creates that tight spot. Try running qRemesher on your mesh: Tool Palette > Geometry > qRemesher

Choose either half, same, or double to define how many polys you want, and then hit the big qRemesher button and it should give you a better mesh to work with.

ZRemesher will also do the same thing, that is redistribute the polys and get rid of the poles.

Try releasing the shift key when smoothing, it runs a different algorithm.
