ytresu,
A big welcome to you!
Your works are really lyrical and beautiful, and it’s great to see your thread here.
Your drawings here remind me a lot of Siju’s drawings, whose thread can be found here:
Anatomy Thread of Thomasphoenix
If you wouldn’t mind telling us about your art training and background, I would really appreciate it! Looking forward to seeing much more of your work!
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
Hi Rebekka, nice to meet you here, Thanks for your compliments about my works.
As requested here are some words about me:
I’m italian and I studied arts in Florence - drawing, painting and architecture.
At school I learnt about anatomy for artists.
Then I start my painting carreer and drawing comics.
Now I’m working as graphic designer and in the meanwhile I’m drawing comics books and showing my paintings (I use watercolors and acrilycs).
Rebekka, your lessons are great and your bodies drawings are wonderful and I’d like to draw in your style.
This is a comic book I made last year (2005): it’s a novel about the search of the water in Siena (Italy) from middle age.
It’s a 100 pages comic book commissioned by a bank for a Christmas present for her customers.

History of Roccastrada a village in Maremma country (Tuscany)
A new comic book, here are some pages…

Critics & suggestion welcome
Wow!
beautiful and expressive work in those drawings and I always like to see what comic artists do, as I love comics.
Really looking forward to your updates.
My only critique would be that the pose of the woman in the first sketch was a bit hard to read at first for me, but that’s just a minor thing.
Keep posting…

Yretsu, thanks! That’s great to know. It must have been great to study art in Florence, I am really envious!
Actually Queensoul who has a thread here on the Forums recently returned from a month long study at the Florence Academy of Art ~ some of her work and reference photos from Florence can be seen here.

Thanks so much for this kind compliment!
It’s nice to hear from an Italian especially since I so much admire the Italian Renaissance greats and would love to study from the real works of art in the future. I have been to Florence and Rome only once, but it was incredibly eye opening in terms of the huge wealth of art that is there everywhere.
You know, I’m not really a comic book person, but I have to say that I like your comic book pages quite a lot. They show your effortless facility with drawing and painting really nicely, and I like that they ‘breathe’.
Great to see your work, and I look forward to seeing more!
Cheers,
~Rebeccak
