Doing some polypainting with ZBRUSH this morning…Worked on the tree, and the waterfalls…starting to put the rocks in the waterfalls, to give them more depth and to add a varity to the flow and rhytms of the water as it cascades downward.
Fun polypainting,…ZBRUSH is great for this sort of thing…amongst alot of other things of course…

Some more work done on this piece this morning…Placing the rocks in the waterfall, and some uprooted trees in the forground that have been swept away by the water in some previous rain storm…Need to put the water traveling around and over the rocks next…and texture the trees so they look like they have been there for awhile…same thing with the rocks…moss and plants growing on them ect.

Doing a quick little 20 minute compositional study this morning…The man is not my own, he is a study model that comes with ZBRUSH…Everything else in the compositional study is mine, and created by me.

Trying something new for me…Lighting a single layer 2.5 D scene inside of ZBRUSH…I usually take the scene into Corel Painter to do the lighting…But just discovered that the lights now work on a 2.5D single layer scene in this latest version of ZBRUSH…I never could get them to do anything on my single layer 2.5D scenes before…So now I have something new to explore and experiment with regarding lighting a single layer 2.5D scene…Great

Top one is unlit scene as it looked yesterday…Bottom one is a single ZBRUSH light addition…wierd what kind of effect a little lighting can have on a piece…

The above post is with one ZBRUSH light on a 2.5D scene…The below images are with 4 lights on the same 2.5D scene plus the use of the new LightCap feature on top of that…Amazing that the lights can now be used on a single layer 2.5D scene, IN SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS …and it’s so fast WOW…Amazing…Opens up a whole new frontier to explore, without even having to leave ZBRUSH…Great …Thank You Pixologic programers…whoever you are…

Going to revisit this piece that I started a few months ago using ZBRUSH…I want to try out some of the new ZBRUSH features on it …like FiberMesh, LightCap, and DynaMesh…Will be a good one to push further what I learned while doing the piece posted at the bottom of the previous page in here.

Some more practice this morning with lighting and color using polypaint and some of the other newer features in ZBRUSH 4R3, such as FiberMesh and LightCap…The man in this piece is the practice model that comes with ZBRUSH,…The rest is all mine, and all done within ZBRUSH.
Done just as a quick practice study to get used to the new features within ZBRUSH.

I really like the way you use ZBrush - it’s very inspiring! Are you putting together several different models in Zbrush and then rendering or rendering first and then compositing in some other software? (Photoshop?)

Did you try ZBrush 4R2 as well? If you did, how is the new FiberMesh different?

Hi Vilhelmina and Thanks. These last few scenes with the bears and waterfalls are sculpted 3d models done entirerly in ZBRUSH…No rendering done…just using the Shadow Preview feature in the reder section of ZBRUSH…I’m adding in other elements that I sculpted, such as rocks, bears ect to the original 3d landscapes that I made to start with… the plants and foilage/grasses are 3D ztl tools that I made using the new FiberMesh feature in ZBRUSH…Then in the end, I am polypainting for some of the textures and colors, and am using the new LightCap feature in ZBRUSH to do the lighting.
On some of the earlier done bear scenes, I did render in ZBRUSH, and then export to the Corel Painter program, did some compositing there, and then imported back into ZBRUSH to work futher in that program on the externally composited version of the bear scene…But lately, to get the results that i’m after,… i’ve been trying to stay within ZBRUSH as much as possible, from start to finish…with the new features in ZBRUSH 4 R3, that is finally a possibility come true…

Top post
Grizzly Falls …Take Two
Going to rework this scene that I started a few months ago…Want to try out some of the new ZBRUSH features such as FiberMesh and LightCap on it…Just something to experiment on and explore these new features with…Might make it better, might not…only one way to find out…Do It.
Glenn
All sculpted in ZBRUSH

Bottom post
To start off with the rework…Stuck a couple of new forground boulders into this scene this morning to act as diagonal lead in’s to the main action and focal point of the composition.
