Jumping back to the gypsy girl…

Trying a new take on the nose as well as adding more detail to the painting itself. No where near close to be done yet obviously lol. Not sure if the hand is correct, deffinatly needs more rendering.

Hi…Sheri…

Nice job on that face so far… …you might want to check the angle of the bottom of the chin…the bottom edge, should be at the same angle as the eyes, where the eye on the right is a tad lower than the one on the left…gives the hole head a slight tilt…same angle under the nose and wings of the nostrals…ect.
I like that horse sculpture that your working on…think it needs a little more meat on the top of the back…has a sway back at the moment.
You might try also to get the legs in a stance where there is movement, by having one leg raised off the ground, bent and set higher than the one that is touching the ground and carrying the wieght…just a thought though…
Looking forward to seeing the progress on both of those pieces…

Hey thanks Glenn!

Did some of the changes that you suggested, as you were absolutely right. I should REALLY start laying out a basic grid before I lay down paint to insure that I have all the features lined up properly. I am deffinatly not ready yet to “eyeball” it.

I also changed some of the lighting a tad bit, not sure if I’m going in the right direction or not though. It’s all trial and error. =)

Oh and speaking of eyes, I am reworking them...in progress!

Hmm...does the composition look left side heavy? Or am I just staring at this too long?

It feels a little crowded in general to me. Maybe a bit more blank canvas around the sides/top would open it up a bit more. The tone on the dragon doesn’t feel completely tied into the rest of it (for a reason I can’t nail down… it is blue after all ;)), and that with it’s strong abstract shape does kind of pull that way.

Nice sculpture, gesture of the figure comes through

Just set up my laptop so I would be able to do some paintings/sketches from work or what not during my free time.

Worked on this last night, w/o reference so I know it has problems lol. Just a fun piece.

Warning…horrible WIP photo’s inc!

pretty kewl

what is the horse attached to? do you take it off there when it’s finished? or is it meant to be standing like that? (forgive my bluntness… I know absolutely nothing about sculpting, yet I find it very interesting and would like to try it at a later stage in my life)
