Mm I really don’t want to take the role of the “acid woman”, if I write in your thread is because I think you REALLY are extremely talented.
My simple 2 cents are : I think it’s clear as the sun that you know the tools, the rules, the colors, everything but when will you show us YOUR style?
From the last pages of your thread I look at an enormous quantity of realle awesome art but it’s like to look at pictures coming from different people, from different souls.
I underline again that this is obviously my personal point of view and that your capability is out of discussion

#116

Love the old lady portrait. Awesome work.

Maybe this is exactly Santhosh’s soul you are seeing Serena?
I don’t want to critisize you (you know I envy your talent), nor do I pretend to know Santhosh any better than you (I’m following my gut here) but I disagree.

Santhosh definitely is one of the exploring kind, always pushing further, searching for different ways to express how he feels about what he observes. Imho I think he should keep doing this -always- without wondering too much where it will take him. The path he is walking is obviously beautiful.

Santhosh, please don’t actively search for a style, it will only limit you and force you to oppress the explorer in you. I am seriously convinced that the worst thing to have is a style. Your talents and skills imply a lot more than only that…

Aside from that…
I really like the figure in the top middle of your last post Santhosh!
I meant to ask you earlier but haven’t had the chance yet, what is the reddish bubble on the old woman’s nostrill in the linear portrait WIP? It is kind of disturbing.

#119

Those paintings are amazing! Show us more!

Johan, I always wished I had a distinctive style of my own, but after reading what you said, I think I may need to rethink…or better yet, not think about it and just keep exploring.

#120

hey all. . sorry . . was away . . travlled to the place i was dreaming of since i was a kid. . Rajasthan . was magical . .

hey johan . . yea. . i like to explore. . i was stuck … and i know how it is. . so i have been exploring eversince. . i am a sum of all my infulences… mainly my mentor Ramesh Rao and my painting gods Ganesh Pyne , Shyamal dutta ray and Bhasker rao . . also influences of rameshwar broota and another art teacher Sharath Palimar . then there is J S Khande Rao, chandranath acharya . .
